Fish Preferred

P. G. Wodehouse (1881 - 1975)

Fish Preferred is the third Wodehouse novel set at Blandings Castle, and the first to feature such memorable characters as the Honorable Galahad Threepwood (younger brother of Lord Emsworth), Sir Gregory Parsloe-Parsloe of nearby Matchingham Hall, and the Empress of Blandings herself, that serene animal and most porcine of McGuffins. The Hon. Galahad has come to Blandings to write the Reminiscences of his younger and wilder days, which are expected to cause much grief to his quondam associates who have now settled down into middle-aged respectability. This novel also includes Hugo Carmody and Ronnie Fish, who will be familiar to those who have read Money For Nothing, and the return of Percy Pilbeam who appeared briefly in Sam In The Suburbs. Of course Lord Emsworth, Lady Constance Keeble, the Efficient Baxter, and Beach the butler all have prominent roles in this book. (Summary by Zach)
